Quotes > Bible Verse of the Day

God Show Me Your Ways

Show me your ways, O LORD,
teach me your paths;
guide me in your truth and teach me,
for you are God my Savior,
and my hope is in you all day long.
Psalm 25:4-5 New International Version (NIV)

Are you asking God to guide your paths? Are you trying to learn the Bible on your own or are you asking God to “teach you”? Do you look to God “all day long”? This can be a challenge. It is easy to look to God in the morning or before you go to bed, but all day! Do you find yourself looking at this like your kids look at doing their chores? If we take this verse to heart and truly put our hope in God throughout the day we will be rewarded immensely.

The verse starts with “show me your ways, O Lord”. How different would your day go if you ask this of God? How would you react to a situation at work or with the kids, if you had this verse on your mind and heart?

Do you ask God to guide and teach you? Sometimes we can allow ourselves to just ask God to fix things in our lives. Maybe, just maybe, God wants to teach you something today that could affect the rest of your life. If that is the case you just need to be open to ask Him to guide and teach you. If you are like me, you can look back at your life and say “I sure wish I would have followed this verse years ago”. If I asked God what He would do… “man could I have avoided that situation!” or “man would my life be different!” I believe that is one of the things God wants to get across with this verse. If we would have followed this verse our lives would be extremely better than they are now and we would not have to deal with the repercussions of our past choices. The good news is… You can start today!

Today, give God your heart and mind. Ask Him to show you His ways and His plans for your life. You will be glad you did.

God So Loved the World

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
John 3:16 New International Version (NIV)

When was the last time you read this verse? “For God so loved the world”, for God so loved you!

Most of us memorized this verse as a child. Does it still have power in your life? Today, I want to challenge you to never let this verse go. There are many great verses throughout the Bible, but this one should have a special place in your heart and mind.

We all want to be loved. We all like to hear someone tell us that they love us. Well, this verse tells us that God, the creator of the universe, loves us. This verse shows us how immensely God loves and cares for each one of us. John 3:16, does not just leave us with God simply saying, “I love you” like a friend would. It says that God so loved us and wants to spend eternity with us that He was willing to allow Jesus, his only son to be a sacrifice for our sin.

John 1:1-2 tells us that Jesus was with God in the beginning. We have know idea how long the universe has been around, but God and Jesus have been together. There has never been a closer relationship between a father and son than our God and Jesus. Yet, God loved “you” so much that He felt it necessary to send Jesus Christ, His “one and only son”, to be both an example for us and to also save us.

Jesus was sent to be the true light of the world by becoming human. Jesus was both fully God and fully human. By reading about Jesus we can know more about what God is like and can enjoy a relationship with Him. Jesus came to provide a way of redemption for you and to reveal God’s truth to you. God, in His mercy, forgives you, loves you and accept you. God longs to restore His relationship with you. It does not matter what sins you have committed, or how many times you have tried to follow God and failed…God still wants a relationship with you.

There are so many quotes that could be added here, but if you are struggling with your relationship with God, think of these and trust in God that He will help you succeed. God wants you to have an amazing life and to have an impact on others for Him.

“The most certain way to succeed is always to try just one more time.” – Thomas Edison
“Never, never, never, never give up.” – Winston Churchill

Today, smile, be grateful, be excited about life, know that the most important person (Jesus) and God love you and this verse is in the Bible to remind you of that!

The Day the Lord has Made

This is the day the LORD has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it.
Psalm 118:24 New International Version (NIV)

Are you grateful for another day of life? Are you rejoicing and glad to be alive? As a young child, there was a song that we sang based on this verse. No matter what mood you were in by the end of the song it was hard not to be smiling. How would your day be different if you started it with a smile and a feeling of overwhelming gratitude towards God for another day of life? Today, thank God and be happy to be living this wonderful day!

With My God I Can Scale a Wall

With your help I can advance against a troop*; with my God I can scale a wall.
Psalm 18:29 New International Version (NIV)
* Or can run through a barricade

God is on your side! Whatever you might be dealing with, with God you can overcome it. Is there a barricade you need to run through or wall do you need to climb? Have faith in God and know that you can do anything with God on your side. Today, whatever that challenge is pray to God, have faith, believe that He will help you overcome it, and approach the day with confidence.

Hope in the Lord

but those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.
Isaiah 40:31 New International Version (NIV)

It’s friday! Have you had a long week? This verse says if we hope in the Lord, He will renew our strength. Today, put your hope in God to renew your strength, your spirit, your mind, your faith…and you will not be disappointed. Make an extra effort this next week to put your hope in God and you will be amazed at the difference. No need for energy drinks. Go to God for that extra energy!

Work at it with all your Heart

Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men
Colossians 3:23 New International Version (NIV)

How do you approach you work? How do you approach your to-do list? Are you doing it to please God? This is interesting to look at. Many times in today’s society you see the mind-set of let me do “just enough” or “I want to do the bare minimum”. How different would our lives be if we put our whole heart into our tasks to please God? I think sometimes we forget that God watches every moment of our lives and sees our thoughts and attitudes. Today, as you go about the day and have tasks before you ask yourself this question: Would God be proud of my attitude and the effort I am giving at this moment?

Trust in the Lord

Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.
Proverbs 3:5-6 – New International Version (NIV)

Are you a do-it-yourself type of person? If so, it can be hard to not lean on your own understanding. But our understanding is in no comparison to the Lord’s. To trust someone, you have to have faith in them. Faith that they will do what they say or promise. Proverbs 3:5-6 says if we submit to Him and trust in Him with all our heart, He will make our paths straight. If you are going to trust anyone, why wouldn’t you trust God? Today, have 100% faith that God will come through and He will.

Many of us know the song “Lean on Me” by Bill Withers. Well, God wants us to lean on Him and His understanding in all aspects of our lives. Today, decide to trust in the Lord and lean on God.

God Will Be With You

Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go.
Joshua 1:9 – New International Version (NIV)

How cool is this! God is with us wherever we go. We have the almighty God with us every momment. He is there just waiting to help us through whatever obstacles are in front of us. All we have to do is reach out to Him and ask for His help and guidence, then have faith that He will do just that. The verse says “Do not be afraid, do not be discouraged”. Isn’t this what holds all of us back from accomplishing what we want in our lives? Fear and discouragement often times comes from trying to do everything on our own and not allowing God to make it so much easier. Whatever you are going through, remember today that God is with you. You have the creator of the Universe on your side. He is waiting to have a relationship with you and to help you be strong and courageous.

God Will Meet All Your Needs

And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus.
Philippians 4:19 – New International Version (NIV)

This is definitely a verse your want to memorize and say to yourself throughout the day until you believe it with 100% of your being. “God will meet all your needs” believing this should put a smile on your face. Get rid of fear and worry as the Bible says so many times. Instead, have faith in God and this verse. Live life knowing that God will meet all your needs and your can do amazing things!

Not Because of Righteous Things!

he saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. He saved us through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit,

Titus 3:5 NIV

God saved us because of his mercy not because of any righteous things we have done.
